Vickie Sutherland

Meet Vickie

I’M VICKIE SUTHERLAND.

I’m a wife, mother, daughter and an overcomer.

I’ve dedicated my life to helping women and girls (18 & older) build successful lives that allow them to break free from toxic patterns and build healthier relationships and lifestyles.

Although I espouse Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Christian Counseling, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I believe that therapy should be as unique as the individual, and that engaging a warm, genuine relationship is the essential factor in helping clients work towards their desired outcomes. I believe in the importance of the whole person and in collaborating to maximize the strengths, resources, and resilience that clients already possess.

Whether those toxic patterns are something that you, at one point, chose (e.g. drugs, alcohol) or toxic patterns that were forced upon you (e.g. assault, abuse)…it doesn’t matter.

What matters is your desire for more than what life has offered you thus far.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO JUST SURVIVE IN YOUR LIFE. YOU CAN FORGE A PATH FOR YOUR LIFE THAT LOOKS AND FEELS 100% BETTER THAN YOUR CURRENT NORMAL.
In my years of experience, I’ve seen women who were at rock bottom make ONE decision on ONE fate filled day that took them from being strung out and wholly reliant on substance abuse to survive, to being sober, happy and rebuilding their family.

I received a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who has been working as a psychotherapist since 1992.

I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
